Installation of trail cameras near the nestboxes

Yesterday we checked the nest boxes in the botanical garden (there are a few dozen). The breeding season is in full swing, the nest boxes occupied mainly the Great Tits (Parus major) and Blue Tits (Cyanistes caeruleus). The birds sat on eggs already in most cases. As usual, Hazel Dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius) made a nest in some boxes.

A byproduct of this work is that I installed two trail cameras as well. I hope to be able to show some interesting shots next week. 😉

In addition to these, we also observed many interesting animals, such as a Grass Snake (Natrix natrix) and tadpoles in the lake (see below).

Cosmopolitan piscivorous raptor

What does piscivorous mean? Adapted to feeding on fish; fish-eating.

Many other diurnal birds of prey also eat fish, but the real piscivorous is the Osprey. Moreover, even cosmopolitan. So it's a pretty special bird species.

Do I have to say anything else? Watch Osprey cams! 😉

White Storks of Alfaro

Currently 197 White Stork webcams are available on the WACMAP. Not a small number! If I had to choose one, I would choose Alfaro’s cam.

Alfaro's storks are known to all White Storks fan. A large colony nests on the roof of the Collegiate Church of St. Michael the Archangel. The webcam constantly scans the nests so we get an insight into the lives of many stork families. This is amazing!

What do you think about this? What is your favorite White Stork nestcam?

Here you can see this live camera >>

Check out the video below too! 😉
